Problem — A 3:1 reduction was needed in a compact, coaxial envelope where a standard gear train wouldn't fit.

Solution — A fully-mated star epicyclic train with true involute tooth profiles; sun, planets, ring and carrier regenerate from module, tooth count and pressure angle.

Problem — Two shafts needed a rigid, torque-transmitting connection with drawings a shop could quote and cut from directly.

Problem — A load-bearing clevis shackle bolt needed a drawing tight enough to machine and inspect without back-and-forth.

Hydraulic Engine Lifter — Workshop Hoist

Problem — A workshop needed to lift and position engines safely, which meant a rolling hoist whose ram, frame and castors all had to resolve into one mechanism that actually moves.

Solution — A multi-part assembly built around a hydraulic actuator and telescoping rod, on a welded leg frame with castor wheels — mated so the lift travel can be driven and checked in-model.

Switch Box Enclosure — Housing Design

Problem — An electrical switch enclosure needed cut-outs, mounting bosses and a lid interface that would still be manufacturable once every feature was in.

Solution — A single parametric housing where the shell, apertures and fixing points are driven features — so a change to one dimension regenerates the whole box cleanly.

Clutch — Single-Plate Dry Clutch Assembly

Problem — A 240 mm dry clutch had to exist as a working assembly rather than one solid block, so the clamping, friction and torsional-damping functions could each be checked and revised on their own.

Solution — A 12-component parametric assembly — an 18-finger diaphragm spring, six tangential damper springs seated in the disc, and a splined hub — driven from disc diameter, spring count and clamp travel, with the engaged and released states modelled separately.

Problem — A turned decorative stand had to be captured as a clean profile a lathe could actually follow, not an approximated shape.

Solution — One sketched profile revolved about its axis, with the curve controlled by dimensions rather than freehand geometry — so the form is exact and adjustable.

I'm Shahryar — a PEC-registered mechanical design engineer. For years I've turned ideas and existing parts into designs that reach the shop floor, with the datums, fits and callouts done right the first time. Questions clients ask before sending files.

What file formats do you deliver?

Native SolidWorks (SLDPRT, SLDASM, SLDDRW), neutral STEP and IGES for any CAD system, AutoCAD DWG/DXF, and dimensioned PDF drawings. Flat-pattern DXF for sheet metal on request.

What do you need from me to start?

Whatever you already have: a hand sketch, photos of a physical part with key measurements, a legacy PDF drawing, or a 3D scan — plus a sentence on what the part needs to do. No CAD file is required to start.

How does the 48-hour turnaround work?

After you send your input I confirm scope and quote. Single parts and small assemblies are typically delivered within 48 hours of confirmation; larger assemblies or full drawing packages get an honest timeline up front.

Do you work under NDA — and who owns the files?

Yes — I'm happy to sign your NDA before you share anything. Project files stay confidential and full ownership of the delivered CAD transfers to you.

Can you produce drawings to GD&T standards?

Yes. Production drawings include datums, feature control frames, fits and tolerances in ASME Y14.5 style, sized so a machine shop can quote, cut and inspect without back-and-forth.

Do you work with international clients and time zones?

Yes — I work fully remotely with clients worldwide, with daily overlap of EU and US working hours. Everything is handled async by email with clear milestone updates.
